What is a biphasic pattern?

Last Updated: Jan 30, 2018 09:19AM CET
Most women with ovulatory cycles will exhibit a biphasic parameter pattern.

In this pattern, the physiological parameters increase in response to the increase in progesterone after ovulation.

For example, measured skin temperatures shift from a lower, pre-ovulatory range (typically around 34.5 - 35.9°C / 94.1 - 96.6°F) to a higher, post-ovulatory range (typically between 35.3 - 36.7°C / 95.5 - 98.1°F).

After the temperature shift, temperatures will usually remain in the higher, post-ovulatory range for several days.
